Richard has been in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. He is a 1987 SAIT graduate of Chemical Process Operations and Power Engineering. He spent 15 years serving in various capacities in refining, gas processing facility operation and commissioning. He was the Founder and President of Durango Oilfield Services Ltd in 2003. In 2009, Mullen Investments acquired Durango, and Richard stayed on and served as Vice President of Cascade Energy Services LP (a Mullen Group company) through 2011. He joined Talisman Energy in 2011 as Water Infrastructure Foreman/Consultant for the Montney shale gas development, commissioning infield water handling infrastructure.
A lifelong native of Prince George, Richard began his silviculture and wild land firefighting career in 1983. His devotion to successful project completion swiftly developed into an ownership role at Seneca Enterprises Ltd., where he acquired extensive experience in management, supervision, safety and contract bidding. He sold his Seneca Enterprises Ltd. shares in 2009 and began his career with the natural gas industry in supervisory and operational management roles. With his vast knowledge in business, Richard became a key member of the Butler Ridge Energy team in the spring of 2012, providing his services in supervision, safety and management of the wildfire division.
After graduating high school, Ron enrolled in and completed the Business program at C.N.C. In 1984, he embarked on his career in the silviculture industry, beginning in the field and eventually earning his way into an ownership/management role. In 2005, Ron struck out on his own, forming his own silviculture company. His experience acquired in business, safety, and contract organization lends itself well in supporting the Butler Ridge team. Ron joined Butler Ridge in the summer of 2014.
Business Development Manager
Rick was born and raised in Northern British Columbia and began life early in the oil and gas industry. Summer holidays and school breaks were always busy helping welders and swamping on crew trucks. His full-time oilfield career officially started after high school in 1999, where he worked many oilfield jobs, including pipeline, construction, heavy equipment, truck driving and service rigs. It was in the service sector to which Rick found his niche, becoming an abandonment specialist in the wireline industry. From 2007 to 2016, Rick had worked his way up to Cased Hole Wireline Supervisor and held that position for six years. After the company he was working for closed down, Rick went on to manage an oilfield equipment rental company for a year before coming over to Butler Ridge in August of 2017. Rick brings almost 20 years of oilfield experience and relationships to the Butler Ridge team and looks forward to building and maintaining new and old relationships while on board with Butler Ridge Energy Services.
